Images of four nokia smartphones – one with the largest screen and dual camera setup – have been on the web since May thanks to reliable leakster Evan Blass. Since then tech enthusiasts have been expecting Hmd Global, the owner of the Nokia brand license to introduce a high-end flagship smartphone by the end of 2017. However, it seems that HMD Global will fulfill people’s expectations by coming up with a flagship dubbed Nokia 8, whose press renders leaked online.
Nokia 8 press renders leaked
The leaked image of Nokia 8 comes courtesy leakster Evan Blass who shared a picture of the smartphone sporting a silver hue on his official Twitter account.
For the unfamiliar, several previous rumors and leaks have indicated that the Nokia 8 will be a premium smartphone and feature a dual Carl Zeiss camera set-up at the back. Earlier it was Blass who has leaked the blue version of the device and now we know that there could be another shade of the smartphone in the offing.
Apart from the color, there is no other visible difference between the two Nokia 8 smartphones. The silver hued version comes with bare minimum bezels on the left and right of the handset. However, the top and bottom bezels are quite thick compared to the side bezels. The top of the device sports the selfie camera to the left, the earpiece in the center, and the company logo on the right.
The bottom shows off the capacitive navigation keys, along with the fingerprint sensor-integrated home button. The camera shortcut has been placed on the right side of the screen.
The lock cum power off switch is located on the ride side of the Nokia 8 along with the volume control buttons. At the back, one can see the dual camera setup placed at the top center of the smartphone with the LED flash placed below the two camera sensors.
The logo has been etched at the center of the rear panel.
Rumored specs and features
The highlight of the rumored Nokia 8 is the 13-megapixel Carl Zeiss camera sensors that it may come with. Apart from that the smartphone is rumored to boast a Quad HD display and may house 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM, along with 64 GB of native storage.
Speculations are rife that the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and will be running on Android 7.1 Nougat. However, fans will be expecting an upgrade to the latest Android mobile operating system – rumored to be Android O – as soon as it releases. Previous rumors hint that HMD plans to introduce the device in late July and may retail the handset for around $600 in the United States.
