While the Xbox Live Gold subscribers are currently drowning in a pile of loot from playing Diablo 3 for Free this weekend, PlayStation Plus members are also in for a treat this upcoming month of August. In addition to free to play weekend of “DOOM” between July 27 and 30, Sony also revealed their latest selection of free games for PlayStation 4, 3 and Vita beginning next week.

Let’s take a look at the list of games you can download for free this upcoming August. Note that these games are only available for PS Plus subscribers.

Games for PlayStation 4

Just Cause 3this is an action-adventure video game from Avalanche Studios and publisher Square Enix. Known for the over the top and action packed gameplay, “Just Cause 3” is a third person open-world action game that gives the players freedom to do anything they want. Want to blow up everything while flying using your Wingsuit in a game? You can do it here. Want to use a bus as a wrecking ball in a game? Just Cause 3 got you covered.

Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry – This is a standalone downloadable content for the fourth installment in the series titled “Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.” You start off in this game as a slave that later on gets freed and becomes an assassin.

You then set on your way to free more slave in the Caribbean while you fight your way on a storyline filled with Templars and Pirates. While the game is quite short and considered by many as a side-story of “Black Flag,” it’s still pretty fun and highly recommended.

More freebies

In addition to the two AAA games free for PlayStation 4 owners, the month of August still proves to be generous for the rest of Sony fans.

PlayStation 3 is getting “Super Motherload” and “SnakeBall” for free while PS Vita is also getting “Downwell” and “Level 22.”

The fun does not stop there. Sony is also giving PS Plus members an exclusive access one a handful of movies for $1. The movies available are “Lego Batman,” “Logan,” “Power Rangers,” “Kong Skull Island.” “Boss Baby,” and “Ghost in the Shell.”

The roster of upcoming games for the PlayStation 4 this year is already pretty amazing, and the announcement of the free games only makes it better.

This is shaping up to be a pretty awesome month (and year) for the PlayStation fans. Whatever the indication of this news for these free games are still pretty difficult to discern. But on the brighter note, whether you end up liking them or not, it’s alright because they’re free.
