The “Resident Evil” series is filled with a unique cast of characters that each have their own special traits and abilities. Most of them have gone through intense life-or-death experiences due to bioterrorism, but they’ve made it out alive every time. A few of these heroes have undergone special training while others are just plain civilians who had to learn how to fight in order to survive. With that being said, let’s take a look at some of the best “Resident Evil” characters.
Claire Redfield
Claire first appeared as a protagonist in the second game who traveled to Raccoon City in search of her brother, Chris.
Following the incident in the city, she hounded the Umbrella Corporation and was captured and brought to an island where she fended off more of the undead and reunited with her sibling. Fast forward to several years later and she was caught up in another similar occurrence with her friend’s daughter, Moira, at Rockfort Island. What makes Claire so special from the cast is that she was never a military agent nor had her skills enhanced using viruses. This activist manages to survive every situation thrown at her despite being an ordinary citizen who received training from her brother. She’s far from a damsel in distress and can hold her own against hordes of zombies and other infected creatures.
Leon Kennedy
Like Claire, he also appeared in “Resident Evil 2” as a rookie cop on his first day on the job. Unfortunately, he wasn’t aware that the city had already been infected and was thus trapped in the area along with three other survivors. After the events of the second game, the government found and trained him to become their secret agent where they deployed him on numerous missions.
He had been tasked with rescuing the president’s daughter in the fourth game and even teamed up with another special agent in the sixth title. Leon is a capable survivor and is trained to handle situations that deal with bioterrorism.
Rebecca Chambers
She was once a rookie member of the S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team who specialized in biochemistry and was the assigned medic for the group.
Rebecca’s first exposure to bioterrorism was during one of her missions in the Arklay Mountains. There, she and her team explored the Raccoon Forest and came across a train wreck that was carrying a dangerous prisoner - ex-Marine lieutenant Billy Coen. After discovering the zombie outbreak, the two formed an unlikely partnership and worked together to escape. After the duo managed to find safety, Rebecca headed towards the mansion where she had to survive yet another ordeal filled with more biohazardous outbreaks. Despite her appearance, Rebecca is a capable fighter who has survived two outbreak situations in a row.
