It will take at least six months or so before anyone can grab a copy of “Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory,” but already, Bandai Namco is hell-bent on making sure fans have more than enough knowledge before its launch.
Gematsu was kind sufficient to translate V-Jump’s latest issue, in which details of the upcoming game’s new characters are shown. The Japanese magazine also included information about a new system that all players should know before the game is released.
Two new characters for ‘Hacker’s Memory’
The sequel for “Cyber Sleuth” will have two additional characters – one of them an already familiar face, and the other, completely brand new. The former is none other than Nokia Shiramine herself, the cellphone-totting, redhead tamer of “Digimon Story.”
And yes, she’s probably named after the Finnish phone. Next up is Chitose Imai, who is reportedly Hudie’s second leader. He pairs with Ankylomon, and according to the report is a friendly fellow and the mood maker of the team.
Of course, those who have played “Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth” already have a good grasp of what Nokia’s skills are.
Her partners are Gabumon and Agumon, and is generally a positive thinker, albeit easily scared. According to the Digimon Wikia, Nokia believes herself to have a "superior sexy and cute body," and is offended when Fei calls her ugly. She’s not wrong – Nokia is indeed quite a looker.
‘Territory Battle Quests’ system
“Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory” will have a new system called “Territory Battle Quests.” In this system, the colors of the enemy emblem must be painted over, and the area expanded. Only when the head of the opposition has been suppressed is the quest completed. Successful players will receive a reward for doing so, and allow them also to take a guest character along.
Bandai Namco previously revealed that the sequel would have English and German texts, and the single-player option for the offline game and the two-player mode for its online version.
Just like the first match, “Hacker’s Memory” is being developed by Media Vision, which is also credited for popular titles like “Wild Arms,” “Valkyria Revolution,” and “Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo.”
“Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory” is the follow-up of the original title, and will see a young boy named Keisuke Amazawa get involved in the hacking world after being falsely accused of a crime. The game is set to release in Japan in 2017 with North American and European versions set for 2018. The title will be available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
