'Destiny 2' beta arrives July, released date moved forward, with PC coming later

This year's E3 shows off a preview of one of the most highly anticipated game sequels in the last few years. During E3, Bungie revealed a new "Destiny 2" trailer that put the spotlight on the game's villain Ghaul. But that's not the only information the studio is offering, as they have taken to their blog to share that the "Destiny 2" beta is happening this July 18 for PlayStation 4 and July 18 for Xbox One.

The beta will conclude on July 23 for all platforms. According to Gamespot, there's no news yet on when they'll confirm the PC beta, which is slated for a late August release.

Bungie prioritizing console players?

More announcements regarding "Destiny 2" are making their way to the public, as the studio has announced that the released date for consoles has been scheduled for the earlier date of September 6, while the PC is set to be released on October 24. Of course, players who pre-order the game will be able to get their hands on the beta slated for July 18 at 10 a.m. PDT for PlayStation 4 and July 19 at 10 a.m.

PDT for Xbox One. The beta will run up until July 23. Meanwhile, those who haven't pre-ordered the game will still have a chance to participate in the "Destiny 2" beta beginning July 21 at 10 a.m. PDT, as per PlayStation Lifestyle.

Game to include PlayStation 4 exclusive content

"Destiny 2" isn't without some goodies for those on the console. IGN reports that players who have the Sony console will be able to get their hands on some awesome content, including a special strike called "Lake of Shadows," a ship called "City Apex," an exotic weapon called "Borealis," and a new PVP map called "Retribution." If this isn't enough to get players excited, know that these PlayStation 4 exclusives will be specific to Sony console players until fall next year.

Bungie introduces Ghaul

In the latest trailer showcased by Bungie during E3, "Destiny 2" players were introduced to Dominus Ghaul, who is the primary antagonist of the game. He's known as the big boss of the Red Legion, the group that savagely robs Guardians of their powers, causing players to leave their loot and gear.

The upcoming game is the sequel to 2014's "Destiny," which received positive reviews from gamers and critics alike. It received several DLCs, including "The Dark Below" in 2014, "House of Wolves" in May 2015, "The Taken King" in September 2015, and "Rise of Iron" in September 2016.
