There is no doubt that “far cry 5” is one of the highly-anticipated games in the world. Despite the long wait for the game’s release date, the fans still hope that the developers will be releasing the game anytime soon.

Far Cry” is a first-person shooter PC game developed by German studio Crytek GmbH and published by Ubisoft, initially released on March 23, 2004, for Windows. It sold 730,000 units within four months of release, making it a good competitor to Final Fantasy XI and Resident Evil Outbreak on that year. The game focuses on Jack Carver an ex-special Forces agent, following his survival on a tropical island turned to hell.

'Far Cry 5' spinoff and release date

Due to its success and popularity, it released multiple titles and spin-offs. Each garnered positive reception and exceptional gamer feedback. The last title one in the line was Far Cry 4. It was released in 2014, set in the fictional country of Kyrat with the protagonist Ajay Ghale. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting news about its next video game offering.

Now, instead of the fifth game in 2016 since they do two-year intervals, Ubisoft surprisingly released a stoned age spin-off "Far Cry: Primal." The game revolves around the story of Takkar, who starts off as an unarmed hunter and rises to become the leader of a tribe. Since last year’s slot has already been taken, fans are expecting for the fifth installment to come out this year.

But when will Far Cry 5 really be coming out?

'Far Cry 5' latest rumors

In a recent earnings call with investors, Ubisoft revealed that "Far Cry 5" is one of four games due out before March 2018, alongside "Assassin's Creed: Origins," "South Park: The Fractured But Whole," and "The Crew 2." A Twitter post from Ubisoft circulated online also asking fans if they are ready for a hefty dose of new "Far Cry" adventures.

So these confirm that "Far Cry 5" is in the works and slated to be released. The sad news is that the fans will not be able to play the game soon as the release date has been further delayed from its expected release date in November 2017, it may slip back up to 2018.

These reports may enrage fans and may deliver low sales due to unhappiness with future franchises.

But Ubisoft is confident enough that sales are still good and even inclining up and the reason for the delay is they need to time to decant, innovate, and polish the video game.

As of this writing, Ubisoft is yet to announce the release date of “Far Cry 5.” Thus, readers are advised to take this report with a grain of salt.
