A large (12 inches or longer) submarine can be a wonderful food hack. Depending on your personal appetite you may be able to get two, four, or even six meals out of one sandwich. You will not have to worry about what you are going eat for several Days, and, depending on the ingredients, can cover the four main Food Groups. You can order a sub at your favorite restaurant or make one yourself at home using the food items that you enjoy. Whichever you decide, just remember to properly refrigerate the leftovers so they will not spoil.
Choose your ingredient to please your pallet
You may enjoy going to a fast food restaurant like Subway, or a popular local delicatessen for your submarine sandwiches. Perhaps you enjoy making your own at home with the ingredients of your choice. The bottom line is to please your own pallet and have enough food for several meals. The idea is to make it ginormous so that you will have something to eat for as many servings as possible.

Be sure to ask for or use whole grain bread, and have lots of veggies on your sub. You can also tweak with cole slaw for extra zest. Throw in several slices of your favorite cheese and you will have covered all four of the main food groups in this meal hack.
Next, slice your sandwich based on your own personal eating habits. You can put each serving in a ziplock bag or plastic container until you are ready to use it. You should now have enough food for lunch and dinner for two days.
Making your meal hack stretch
If you can endure smaller servings, you might cut your sub into six sections which will give you additional meals.
You can stretch your food hack by also having nuts and seeds on hand for extra protein. Almonds, walnuts, cashews and sunflower seeds are delicious and nutritious. They are also loaded with calories so only a handful is necessary. You may also stretch this meal hack by throwing in a boiled egg. The egg can be eaten whole as a side, or sliced and diced and mixed in with your sandwich.

Adding a few extra veggies, olives, or slices of pickles or peppers will also add to your submarine and help to fill you up. Toasting the bread, or the entire sub is a option. You may enjoy melted cheese or prefer the entire meal cold. Whatever your preference just be creative and take advantage of this simple way to ensure you have enough food, without slaving over the stove several times a day. However you prepare your meal hack, just make sure that you enjoy the rewards of your labor.
