Just recently, NBA fans learned which players were named starters for the upcoming All-Star Game in Charlotte, North Carolina. The top vote-getter in each conference will serve as a captain in the game and choose their team of representatives. Below is a look at the five players from the Eastern Conference selected to start in the annual game.
Giannis Antetokounmpo - Milwaukee Bucks
The Greek Freak tallied the most votes of Eastern Conference players. He'll be one of two captains for the game, along with the West's LeBron James. Giannis is averaging 26.4 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game this season.
Kyrie Irving - Boston Celtics
With 23.7 points, 6.9 assists, and 4.8 rebounds a game, Irving has helped Boston stay competitive in the East. The 2014 All-Star Game MVP will make his sixth appearance in the game.
Kemba Walker - Charlotte Hornets
The Hornets' All-Star guard will play in his third All-Star Game, this time in front of the home area fans. This marks Walker's first-ever start in the game, as well. The Hornets' guard is averaging 24.4 points, 5.6 assists, and 4.2 rebounds a game this season.
Kawhi Leonard - Toronto Raptors
This is Leonard's third All-Star Game appearance, but first as a player from the Eastern Conference. As a member of the Toronto Raptors, he's averaging 27.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
Joel Embiid - Philadelphia 76ers
This is Embiid's second-straight All-Star appearance and second as a starter. He scored 19 points in last year's game as a part of Team Curry. He's averaging a double-double of 27.2 points and 13.4 rebounds a game, along with nearly two blocks per contest.
