Jon Gosselin was awarded temporary custody of his son Collin on December 4 after his ex-wife Kate Gosselin requested a delay, which was rejected. She was a no-show for the court hearing. The former couple shares eight children: twins Mady and Cara, now 18, and sextuplets, including their son Collin, 14.

Collin will reportedly leave the residential facility, where has lived since 2016, this week, according to an exclusive report by Radar Online. Kate had no qualms letting the world know that her son allegedly has special needs and have to live away from home at a residential facility.

Father of eight has custody of two sextuplets

Jon, meanwhile, was also given custody of the ex-couple’s daughter Hannah, also 14. Both dad and daughter have been spending time with Collin, as depicted by photos the proud father has shared with followers on his Instagram account. In all of the photos that Jon has posted, his son and daughter appear well and happy.

Dad has wanted son home for Christmas

During one of the visits that the father and son enjoyed, Jon took Collin to his barber-friend, Eric Rodriguez. In November, Radar noted, Rodriquez stated that Jon wanted Collin home with him by Christmas.

Though Jon’s and Kate’s marriage dissolved in 2009, the two have been engaged in a custody dispute ever since, often making headlines as a result of their feuding.

Many of Jon’s social media followers continually posted comments asking about his children. Once it was confirmed that Hannah was living full-time with her father, fans encouraged Jon to seek custody of Collin.

Ex-wife Kate skipped court hearing

After the custody hearing affecting Collin earlier this month, Jon commented about Kate, 43, and her lawyer skipping court.

He said that he “would never” miss a hearing, US Weekly reported. He emphasized, “I would always go to court, no matter what.” The two only communicate through their respective lawyers, according to Fox 2 Now.

Son ‘really excited’ to move in with dad, sister

When Collin goes home with his dad and Hannah, he will also live with Jon’s girlfriend Colleen Conrad and her children in Pennsylvania.

Jon and Colleen had a recent outing with the couple’s children. They selected their holiday tree.

Jon, 41, described Collin as “really excited” after the court gave Jon sole custody, Fox reported. He also stated, “We’re really excited to have him home for the holidays and to enjoy the rest of his childhood.” Hannah has also been looking forward to Collin moving in with them. “She wants her brother to come home!” Jon told US Weekly.

Mom of eight claimed sending son away ‘had to happen’

In November 2016, Kate “defended her decision” to send Collin to live away from his family, US reported. She explained that she did not really have an option since his doctors reportedly advised that “it had to happen.” She stated that sending her son to the residential program was the “best thing” she could have done for him and, knowing that, she felt comfort.

Kate still has custody of four of the sextuplets: Leah, Alexis, Joel, and Aaden.

Jon has acknowledged what many fans and social media followers have expressed yet explained that he and Kate cannot co-parent. “I know the whole world wants us too,” Jon said, “but it just doesn’t work,” Fox reported.
