Love is in the air at Buckingham Palace where another royal engagement has just been announced. The world has been abuzz with the news that Prince Harry is going to marry biracial American actress Meghan Markle in May. Now only two months later the Windsors are planning a wedding for the second daughter of Prince Andrew and his former wife Sarah Ferguson. Princess Eugenie who is 8th in line to the throne will be marrying Jack Brooksbank in the fall.
The happy couple will take their marriage vows at St. George's Chapel in Windsor. This is the same venue that Harry and Meghan are going to use in the spring.
Fergie and her in-laws are said to be overjoyed
According to Fox News "Fergie" is overjoyed about the upcoming wedding and tweeted that her 27-year-old daughter and soon to be son in law "float with love and laughter." The parents of Eugenie's fiancee are George and Nicola Brooksbank, who was quoted as saying they could not be more delighted that their son will marry the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth.
There has not yet been a public comment from Prince Andrew, but Buckingham Palace reported that the happy couple became engaged earlier this month while in Nicaragua.
Brooksbank proposed to his princess by presenting Eugenie with a padparadscha sapphire that is surrounded by diamonds.Princess Diana and Kate Middleton's engagement rings were also sapphire and diamonds.
The young royals may do better than their parents
Princess Eugenie is employed as a director for Hausen wine galleries and Jack Brooksbank has been working as a brand ambassador for Casamigos tequila's expansion into Europe and Brittan. They are not directly in line for the throne so royal engagements will not interfere if they choose to remain employed. Meghan Markle had to leave her days as a working woman behind in order to prepare to be Prince Harry's wife.
The world will be watching these two couples long after the weddings in May and in the fall.
Everyone will be waiting to see if this next generation of the House of Windsor, will do better than their parents when it comes to love and marriage. Cousins Harry and Eugenie both come from broken homes because Charles and Diana, as well as Andrew and Fergie, were divorced. For now, however, there is much excitement and preparation in Buckingham Palace with two young members of the House of Windsor have confirmed their nuptials and are planning royal weddings.
