Submarines are the best ways to travel underwater. Aston Marin, the luxury car company which always surprises people with its cool designs, is going to launch a Submarine next year, Bloomberg reported. Martin's cars are quite popular in James Bond movies.

On Thursday, the British car company revealed the design of a submarine at MYS (Monaco Yacht Show). In the history of Aston Martin, it would be the first time that the company would run its engine under water.

$4 million submarine

Submarines are the huge pieces of machinery with an extremely strong design.

Recently, Aston Martin has collaborated with Triton Submarines, a Florida based-company which manufactures underwater vehicles. Aston Martin's new, strictly limited, concept would cost $4 million with air conditioning, Chief Creative Officer and studio head of the company Marek Reichman said.

Reichman said that the sub will be available for purchasing, next year but the company will only build a dozen of the submersible boats per year. He also said, "If you think about Aston Martin, we are a very exclusive brand." He added that the company has manufactured only 80,000 cars in its 100-year career.

Reichman said that after extensive research on the choices of high-profile individuals, the company found that they were increasingly interested in boating.

Features of the submarine

The British carmaker's new project with Triton is known as Project Neptune. It is a three-person vehicle which consists a silver base and a bubble-shaped cabin. In comparison to 2018 Aston Martin DB11 V8 which will cost only $200,000, the sub is 20 times more expensive.

Bradley Yorke-Biggs, Aston Martin's managing director, said that "Project Neptune is a flagship project for Aston Martin Consulting."

According to Bloomberg, the submarine will travel up to the speed of 3.5 m.p.h.

and dive to depths of 1650 feet. The, almost, 6 foot tall submarine will be the lightest and smallest sub in the world when it is complete. The model of the sub is based on the Low Profile (LP) platform of Triton which is specifically designed for yachts.

Aston Martin has been putting efforts into other manufacturing and luxury areas to expand its business.

In 2016, it launched the AM37, a 1,000 b.h.p. motorboat manufactured with Mulder Design naval architects and Quintessence Yachts. It has also collaborated with Miami-based real estate company for a waterfront condo in Miami.
