In Brad Sams' latest "The Sams Report" podcast, the noted Microsoft observer made it known that the new Microsoft device, dubbed the Surface Phone, will be a mobile-type hardware. Although the upcoming mobile device will not be HoloLens-like, it is expected to be expensive and will be in the range of the Microsoft Surface Book. However, the mobile device is expected to be available soon.

HoloLens manufacturer Alex Kipman has supposedly been working on Microsoft's Surface Phone, and the mobile device is expected to be available with C-Shell (Composable Shell), but Sams claimed that the feature is still extremely buggy.

Nonetheless, as the mobile device is already floating around, the Redmond, Washington-based tech giant may be in the uncommon situation of having a product to be paired with not yet ready software.

Device to roll out soon

Nevertheless, while the tech company has yet to officially confirm the Surface Phone's existence, The Christian Post claims that the smartphone will roll out once the tech giant is done updating its Windows 10 mobile operating system. It is interesting to note that despite Microsoft's lack of confirmation, reports about the mobile device continue to mount up on the internet. The wait may be soon over as the company will release the device soon once the Windows 10 update is complete.

While some reports claim the Windows 10 mobile operating system is dead, the software's updated version has even been rolled out to exclusive members. The reason why Microsoft has not released the operating system to the public is still unknown.

Specs and features of the smartphone

In terms of specs, the Microsoft Surface Phone is expected to arrive with some stunning features.

The device is expected to be available with some features from Carl Zeiss and the handset will boast a 20MP rear snapper.

The mobile device is said to arrive with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display. The upcoming Surface Phone will be equipped with a 4GB of RAM as well as a 64GB of internal storage, expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

Tech enthusiasts and experts are expecting the company to pose the device as a tough rival to Apple and Samsung's flagship devices. It seems the smartphone will be among the best ones that the tech giant has to offer yet.

Considering the smartphone will be part of the Surface Brand, the handset will not resemble the typical mobile device available on the market. Microsoft's General Manager for Surface products, Ryan Gavin, stated that there are various patents that proved the tech company will launch a foldable tablet, which could be the Surface Phone.
