NBA rumors are starting to swirl around the Golden State Warriors nowadays. Word is spreading that they are looking forward to their future and preparing to get even better next year. The Warriors are reportedly making a serious run to get Paul George despite the fact they already have one of the most formidable rosters in the league today.

There is no doubt that the Golden State Warriors is the most successful team in the NBA today. They have won two Larry O'Brien NBA Championship trophies in three consecutive NBA Finals appearances and have assembled four out of the top twenty players in the league on their lineup.

Yet, it seems that the Warriors have decided to reinforce their roster by adding Paul George to the mix.

Paul George wants to be a Laker

Paul George has been the face of the Indiana Pacers for years. He's been instrumental to the Pacers' success for the past couple of seasons and has revived the franchise after the Reggie Miller era. It came as a surprise that the Pacers traded him this offseason to the Oklahoma City Thunder for guard Victor Oladipo and forward Domantas Sabonis.

However, recent reports are saying that it is doubtful that Paul George will stay with the Thunder and will eventually join the Los Angeles Lakers next year. Before he was traded to Oklahoma, George mentioned the Lakers as his preferred destination.

But it appears that the Warriors are also prowling behind to get the services of the 27-year-old forward.

Warriors focusing on getting George next season

Earlier news already linked the Golden State Warriors to Paul George, but this time around, the matter seems to be serious. Tim Kawakami of The Athletic said in a recent podcast with the Washington Post’s Tim Bontemps that he thinks that Golden State will go after George and that the Warriors' owner, Joe Lacob, will find a way to make it happen.

Though Kawakami doesn't have an idea of how it will work, he is convinced that it will happen just like what the Warriors did to Kevin Durant.

According to CBSSports, there are two possible scenarios that could happen if the Warriors decide to chase George. First, Golden State will wait out his free agency and lure him after the 2017-2018 season.

Another option is to work a deal with Oklahoma before the trade deadline next year and convince the Thunder to give up the four-time NBA All-Star rather than losing him for nothing as a free agent.

Stranger things have happened in the NBA, as many basketball fans have witnessed this so many times. And it won't be surprising if the Golden State Warriors will once again try to pull off a magic trick out of their sleeves.
