Former University of Connecticut star Diana Taurasi makes another return to her former college state as the Sun host the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday. Taurasi had an impressive scoring performance the last time she visited, but it was on the losing side of things. It was also a close loss for her Mercury, a team still trying to get a WNBA Playoff spot. Meanwhile, Connecticut had been on a hot winning streak as they head towards the postseason, only to have it snapped several days ago by New York. Here's a look at what's on the way for today's matchup and how to watch it live on TV or online.

Today's WNBA matchup

At 15-13 the Phoenix Mercury are the No. 6 team in the current WNBA standings, with only the top eight teams in the league making the playoffs. Phoenix isn't in yet, but are close. A few wins will keep them locked into a spot and avoid a team such as Chicago being able to take over a spot. In their most recent game, the Mercury defeated Washington 89-79 on the road. They'll have that momentum for today's matchup as well as Brittney Griner back on the court. The WNBA All-Star was sidelined for the team's previous game with Connecticut.

The No. 3 seed currently belongs to the Connecticut Sun (18-10) who have won seven of their last 10 games. The team had been riding a six-game winning streak until the New York Liberty visited.

The NY defense stifled Connecticut by holding them to a low 34.3 percent shooting rate at home. The last time Phoenix visited, the Sun edged them 93-92 despite Taurasi scoring a game-high 33 points on 12-for-18 shooting.

For today's game, the Odds Shark website lists the home team as 4.5-point favorites on the spread. The moneyline has Connecticut as -190 to -200 favorites, while the Mercury are +165 or slightly higher underdogs.

For over/under bettors, 171 points is the current number to consider.
