Candice King will appear in a crossover for "The Originals” Season 5, reprising her “The Vampire Diaries” character, Caroline Forbes. As a lot of fans are excited to witness her return, some wonder how her role will be connected to the new life of Niklaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan).

The two once had a mutual understanding, thus some are expecting their romance's continuation in the “TVD” spinoff’s final bow. However, as Caroline will only be seen as the headmistress of the Salvatore Boarding House, Hope’s (Danielle Rose Russell) new school, viewers are wondering how often she can be seen on screen.

‘Klaroline’ storyline

A fan with a username Kirk asked the television show’s creator and executive producer Julie Plec on Twitter how many times Caroline can be seen.

Plec responded and revealed that Candice will appear in “two episodes so far.” “The Originals” Season 5’s profile on IMDb even confirmed this.

However, as the 45-year-old writer used the phrase “so far,” fans are expecting that Caroline will be seen in more than two episodes if things turn out right, Christian Today reported. According to reports, the main reason why Caroline is added in the final season of “The Vampire Diaries” spinoff is to continue the romance she almost had with Klaus that had been put on ice.

In fact, this, too, is the same thing fans are hoping to happen. As the upcoming chapter is the television series’ swan song, Caroline and Klaus’ rapport also known as “Klaroline” might finally occur to put their storyline to a close.

The effect of the curse

In another part of “The Originals” Season 5, the Mikaelson family is being separated, thanks to a curse that forbid them to be together.

In an effort to save Hope, Klaus, Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Rebekah (Claire Holt), and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) break their “forever and ever” promise and now all separated. As they are carrying a piece of Hollow in them, they shouldn’t be reunited, or else the curse will materialize. Now, it is a big question how this will affect the Mikaelson family.

According to Sherbrook Times, the curse will affect Klaus the most. Elijah decided to obliterate every memory she has, while Rebekah and Kol are now happily living their own lives. So, Klaus is left behind, even though he is used to living with his siblings around.

To recall, he convinced them to stay with him for a thousand years as he is afraid to be alone. His separation to his daughter, Hope, also affects him. So, the hardships that he is being through might ignite to wake the monster in him.
