"The Winds Of Winter" novel still does not have a release date. It looks like the installment of "A Song of Ice and Fire" will not be coming to the stores anytime soon.
It seems like the author of "The Winds of Winter" book, George R.R. Martin is still busy with other projects. Martin is caught up with other projects including the hit HBO series, "Game of Thrones" spinoffs.
George R.R. Martin continues to delay 'The Winds of Winter'
Reportedly George R.R. Martin will be working on the spinoff for the HBO show, "Game of Thrones." Perhaps, this is the reason why he could not focus on his highly-anticipated novel, "The Winds of Winter."
The Washington Post revealed that Martin confirmed that he is still not giving up on the seventh installment of "A Song of Ice and Fire." He revealed that he would continue writing the story until it gets done.
Martin also confessed that he has been trying his best to work on it and wished that he could squeeze more time into the day.
There is no doubt that Martin has a lot on his hands, which means that the book will not be released anytime soon. Martin is also busy in his upcoming books called, "Wild Card." It is still unconfirmed if he plans to release the "The Winds of Winter" this year.
Martin is still working on the 'Game of Thrones' spinoff
On the other side of the story, Entertainment Weekly revealed that Martin is currently busy working on the "Game of Thrones" spinoff. The phenomenal writer is working with his team of writers including Jane Goldman, Brian Helgeland, Max Borenstein and Carly Wray.
Speculations also claimed that the rift between Martin and the creators of "Game of Thrones" was one of the reasons why he was not able to finish the novel on time. Martin has reportedly decided to stop writing TWoW in the midst of "Game of Thrones" Season 6.
Fans of "Game of Thrones" are very happy to know that the show will have a spinoff.
However, the bookworms are worried about the future of "The Winds of Winter." Knowing that Martin is now busy with the spinoff, speculations are now claiming that TWoW will be pushed to a 2018 release date. Martin admitted that he would need more time to work on the highly anticipated novel and he is hoping that the fans will be more patient.
Reports claimed that a lot of projects would be coming from George R.R. Martin including the anthology entitled, "The Book of Swords" and "The Sons of the Dragon." As of this writing, Martin is yet to confirm the release date of "The Winds of Winter."
