"The Originals" Season 4 is almost over but a bunch of cliffhangers are still being left unanswered. The undertakings in New Orleans have only gotten much worse with The Hollow's power slowly pushing the Mikaelsons on the losing side. As per the recent spoilers for episode 11, the dangerous fight to take down the enemy might have to sacrifice one significant life in the latter.

Earlier predictions have already claimed that either Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) or Freya (Riley Voelkel) will be making the big sacrifice to save a loved one, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) to be exact.

In the last episode, Elijah met his unfortunate demise after Sofya (Taylor Cole) stabbed him with the killing stake. The Hollow decides to keep him close and use him as bait to lure the Mikaelsons, who have already set their minds to do whatever it takes to get their brother back.

Who's dying in the season 4 finale?

Setting aside tons of fan-made theories and predictions, the speculated death remains on a thin line until everyone can see it for themselves. However, rumor has it that Hayley's death is more likely to take place. While this sounded like a joke for most fans who have always perceived Phoebe Tonkin's character as one of the strongest and most persistent, the synopsis suggests that Hayley will be taking on a huge part in saving Elijah and everyone from being killed by The Hollow.

Considering how the last few aired episodes ended for the Mikaelsons, it seems like their victory against The Hollow is not going to be an easy journey until the very end. "The Originals" season 4 will be moving forward to a new chapter in a few weeks time and many are wishing to see all of these well-loved characters in season 5.

The anticipated death of one character has yet to be revealed and a lot can still happen before the season finale, seeing the originals working together as one family, their joined power can turn the table in their favor.

What can we expect in "The Originals" season 5

Needless to say that season 4 has done a great job in terms of ratings, the expectations for season 5 are as well high.

But setting aside the ratings for now, what's making everyone more excited to look forward to the next installment is the thought of how the closing episode will be fully wrapped and become hugely relevant to the new plots and story lines as "The Originals" opens another chapter.

It can be too early to predict what's coming in "The Originals" season 5, but many are hoping to see The Hollow defeated before season 5. If that happens, the Mikaelsons will definitely take all the credit for defeating an extremely powerful villain in New Orleans. However, it seems impossible to get the same exciting plots and stories as the previous seasons without putting another menacing villain to make the season a little more difficult for the originals.
