A gruesome case in England has finally ended with a life sentence. On Tuesday, murderer Dean Lowe, 33, was sentenced to live out the rest of his days in prison for the January 2017 murder of 32-year-old Kirby Noden. At the time of the crime, Lowe and Noden were a romantic couple.

According to the Devon and Cornwall Police, Lowe brutally murdered Noden at the couple's home and then hid the fact for months. When friends and acquaintances asked about Noden's whereabouts, Lowe would say that she had left him for another man. The case did not even come to the attention of the police until May 2017, when Lowe's family alerted them to disturbing online posts published by their relative.

When police entered Lowe's house, they discovered blood stains on the walls and on the couple's mattress. They also uncovered a metal pole and a heavy rock, the two items which proved to be the murder weapons. Horrifyingly, police say that Lowe admitted to them that he made a necklace out of his girlfriend's teeth after killing her.

Online confession

Sky News reports that the social media post that triggered the investigation left little to the imagination. Lowe wrote to an unnamed cousin, saying, "Either I'm getting set up or I've murdered Kirby. I had a blackout, hazy memory and woke up with a body on the floor. I am scared so I just got rid."

The impromptu confession later stated that Lowe dismembered the body, removed the soiled carpet, and placed the body parts in a garbage can.

In his writing, Lowe referred to Kirby's remains as "meat." The letter even made a comment saying that the murderer tried to flush parts of Noden away in the toilet.

At Lowe's sentencing, Mrs. Justice May of the Exeter Crown Court excoriated Lowe for his lies and lack of remorse. "You must have eaten, slept, watched TV and taken your drugs next to [Noden's corpse] for several days."

Motivation?

So far, no word of Lowe's motivation has been released.

According to his online confession, the convicted murderer seems to claim that he killed his girlfriend in a drug-fueled haze. Mrs. May added further confusion to the case by characterizing Noden as a loving girlfriend who did all of the household chores. As for Lowe, May had nothing but disgust for the convicted murderer who spent his days taking drugs or draining his own blood in order to get a temporary high.

Media interviews with the Noden family have revealed that Kirby was a well-liked person who most regarded as kind and sweet.
