After a massive delay of 10 months, Misfit has finally revealed the launch date of the Vapor smartwatch. The delayed smartwatch, which was first revealed at the CES 2017 in January, will finally arrive in the market on #October 31. While Misfit’s regular wearable product line concentrates mostly on fitness, the Vapor is the first smartwatch the company has produced. The company initially planned to ship the wearable in 2017 summer. However, it delayed the #Release Date further in the later stages.

With a 10-month delay taking the sheen of the smartwatch, the company may find it tough to lure prospective buyers. Many smartwatch companies are partnering with Google to get the AI sensibilities and roping in designers to design the wearables.

This enables them to get an edge in the market. Misfit, on the other hand, does not have any advantage in the design aspect. Although its latest offering comes with #Android Wear 2.0, interested buyers would have already purchased LG's Watch Sport to get all that is desired from Google’s latest wearable OS.

Specs and features

The Misfit Vapor, not to be confused with vaporware, sports a 1.4-inch AMOLED touchscreen display. The wearable boasts of optical heart rate sensors and built-in GPS. Misfit claims that the wearable [VIDEO] is capable of running for two days on a single charge. The wearable is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, which is coupled with 4 GB of native storage. In terms of connectivity, the smartwatch comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. The wearable is also water resistant for up to 50 meters.

It will be shipped with Android Wear 2.0. As the Misfit Vapor will be running on the latest OS, users can download watchfaces. They will also be able to consult Google Assistant whenever required.

Apart from these specs, the smartwatch comes with a feature called touch bezel. The touch bezel is basically a narrow display strip situated around the watchface. This strip can be used as a touch wheel to control the device’s specific functionalities. The smartwatch’s chassis is made of stainless steel, and the company has also provided interchangeable straps for the device.

Price and availability

As mentioned before, the Misfit Vapor will be arriving in the market on October 31. The smartwatch will be available in a number of colors such as Rose Gold, Jet Black, gold, and silver. Interested buyers can purchase the wearable from the online Misfit store for $200.
