Microsoft unveiled its next iteration of its Surface Book hybrid laptop called, Surface Book 2. The new 2-in-1 device will be available in two screen sizes: a 13.5-inch and 15-inch. It will arrive with specs and features that are as powerful as a PC.

Microsoft’s new hybrid laptop has the same design as its predecessor. Owners will still be able to remove the new 2-in-1 laptop’s display portion and utilize it as a tablet. They can also connect the device to a keyboard for a typical laptop experience. The new device still features metal chassis just like the original Surface Book.

Although several tech enthusiasts haven’t noticed, the Redmond-based tech company redesigned Surface Book 2’s fulcrum hinge.

According to Engadget, the new fulcrum hinge of the new device is sturdier compared to its predecessor and the laptop’s screen does not even move when being shaken. Also, the display of the new device does not shake while utilizing it on an uneven surface.

Microsoft seems to target digital content creators in a huge way. Following the success of the first two detachable-hybrid laptops, the tech firm is back with a new, powerful 15-inch laptop, along with a 13.5-inch variant. The 13-inch Surface Book 2 features a 3,000 x 2,000-pixel resolution, while the 15-inch variant boasts a 3,240 x 2,160-pixel resolution. According to ArsTechnica, both laptops come with the same 1600:1 contrast ratio, new Surface Pen stylus support, multi-touch support, and the Surface Dial accessory.

For gaming and virtual reality capabilities, the new 15-inch model is powered by an 8th-gen Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card.

The new Surface Book 2 seeks to satisfy premium-hardware fans, gamers, artists and design enthusiasts.

Laptop with 16GB of RAM

The 15-inch model boasts a 16GB of RAM and its battery life can last up to 17 hours. The Surface Book 2 will be equipped with two USB 3.1 ports, 3.5mm headphone jack, one SDXC card reader, USB Type-C port, Microsoft proprietary Surface Connect charging port, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.1.
