HTC introduced its flagship offering, HTC U 11 and U Ultra earlier this year. One might think that the company is done with smartphone launches this year. But a new report by Tech Radar claims that the company is working on introducing yet another addition to the U 11 Line-up. This one will be called “HTC U 11 Plus.” Rumors mentioned by the online publication indicate that the smartphone will arrive in the market on November 2. According to another report by Phandroid, HTC has already begun sending out media invites for an event held on November 2.
The event will take place in Taiwan. Even though the firm hasn’t confirmed the release date as yet, all rumors indicate that it will be an addition to the U line-up because even the invite reads the letter, “U.” The smartphone will include a larger display and a better camera. It will be priced at a slightly higher end price.
Specifications of the smartphone
According to the prolific leaker, @LlabTooFeR, the speculated U 11 Plus will feature a 5.99-inch display with 1,440 x 2,880 pixels resolution. The smartphone will further be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip. On the storage front, the device is expected to offer either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. This will be accompanied by either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.
Camera wise, the handset will include a 12-megapixel rear sensor along with an 8-megapixel front shooter. The primary highlight of HTC U 11 Plus will be its IP certification – which makes the device water resistant.
Another device in the offing
Apart from the speculated U 11 Plus, HTC is also expected to introduce U 11 Life. This one will be a slightly downgraded version of the “Plus” variant.
As for its specifications, the handset is expected to feature a 5.2-inch display with 1080 pixels resolution. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 system-on-chip. On the storage front, the handset will offer either 3GB or 4GB of RAM along with either 32GB or 64GB of inbuilt memory. Camera wise, the device will pack a 16-megapixel front and rear camera systems.
The primary highlight over here will also be its IP67 certification – which makes the device both, dust and water resistant.
Pricing of both the smartphones
HTC hasn’t made any mention of the price of the upcoming smartphones. The phones are expected to not cost any more than what the other U 11 devices are priced at. The phone is likely to be cheaper than Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8.
