The moment Google launched its newest Pixel smartphones, observers were quick to comment that the Apple iPhone X has met its match, and the hype of the 10th year anniversary device will rather be brief. The Pixel 2 and 2 XL arrived with spectacular specs and features.

Apparently, an unpredicted clash of smartphones is quickly dividing the handset fans into two groups. The first one has accommodated those smartphone fans who shifted quickly after Google announced its latest smartphones. Meanwhile, the other group is composed of those who believe that Apple’s flagship or most important smartphone, iPhone X, remains strong by its newest rival.

The reason why a number of smartphone enthusiasts easily sided with the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones is the amazing features of the devices that set it far apart from Apple’s smartphone. According to the Verge, the smaller variant features a 5-inch screen with 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution, while the larger model boasts a 6-inch screen with 2880 x 1440-pixel resolution.

Smartphone’s processor

The iPhone X will feature a 3GB of RAM and powered by the tech firm’s A11 Bionic chipset. The next-gen Pixel devices, on the other hand, boast a 4GB of RAM and powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 system on chip (SoC).

Camera features

Google improved the camera of its new Pixel smartphone, with a score of 98 from DXOMark, defeating other mobile devices.

The camera of Pixel 2 features a Portrait Mode, blurring out the subject’s background to focus. The camera of the smaller variant supports augmented reality technology. The front camera of the Pixel 2 and 2 XL smartphones comes along with a Portrait selfies. Also, the new-gen Pixel handsets will be available with Google Lens feature.

The smaller model features a 2700mAh battery, while the larger variant boasts a 3520mAh battery. Pixel 2 and 2 XL users will get seven hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charging. The mobile devices are both waterproof.

Prices of the devices

Interestingly, Google will sell the smaller model for $649 and $849 for the larger variant.

Meanwhile, Apple’s iPhone X will have a $1,000 starting price. That’s $150 higher compared to the 6-inch Pixel 2 XL and $350 more expensive than the smaller model. According to USA Today, Google’s latest handsets will run the Android Oreo operating system and will be sold in the United States by Best Buy and Verizon.
