Vivo is working on new additions to its X-series of smartphones. Titled X20 and X20 Plus, the handsets are speculated to fall in the mid-range category. Several images have popped up, revealing the key design. Since Vivo is also the official sponsor of the World Cup 2018, the company probably decided to advertise its X-series on its posters. These alleged posters showed up online too. The latest leak reveals the complete specs list for both devices.

Everything you need to know

According to a report by 91 Mobiles, citing information obtained from a Chinese website, Sina, both Vivo X20 and X20 Plus will offer 6GB of RAM.

On the one hand, X20 is reported to feature a 5.2-inch panel, the “Plus” variant will sport a 5.5-inch display. Both the smartphones will equip an Aspect Ratio of 18:9 with Full Hd resolution. The Vivo X20 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 64-bit octa core processor, and X20 Plus will house Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core processor.

The company is primarily known for packing its smartphones with a high-class selfie camera. It doesn’t come across as a surprise that both the handsets have been rumored to pack a 24-megapixel front shooter. X20 and X20 Plus will house a 3,500mAh battery and run on Android 7.1 Nougat OS. The front and back panels will be built using glass, but its sides will consist of metal.

Under-the-display fingerprint scanning

According to a report by Android Headlines, Vivo is expected to integrate its famous under-the-display fingerprint scanning feature in both these devices. This information appears to be slightly off-track because Vivo had mentioned that it would only be made available for use in the second half of 2018.

Since X20 and X20 Plus will probably be introduced towards the end of this year itself, it appears highly unlikely that they come with the under-the-display fingerprint scanner.

The company is also believed to be planning on marketing these smartphones outside of China including the US. They have been given different names for international variants, namely Vivo V7 and V7 Plus.

The firm took to its official social media account to post a teaser to its X20 smartphone, but they did not make any mention of any specific launch date. These devices are expected to feature slimmer bezels in comparison to most other Vivo-branded smartphones. The pricing detail for X20 and X20 Plus is yet to be known, but since it's falling in the mid-range category, there isn’t a lot to worry about.
