Vivo lately has been surprising its fans by introducing features that even big brands like Samsung and Apple haven’t been able to accomplish successfully. Take, for instance, the under-the-display fingerprint scanner that Vivo unveiled at the recently-concluded Mobile World Congress, Shanghai. While Samsung and Apple have only merely been rumored to be working on this impossible feature — Vivo, on the other hand, has managed to successfully innovate it. The smartphone brand is expected to introduce a couple of its Android-based devices in the coming months.

One of them being the company’s Vivo X9s Plus.

Rumored launch date

There have been a lot of speculation-based reports regarding the smartphone that have emerged online recently. A new recent report seems to be carrying alleged images of the aforementioned smartphone. As first reported by Digit, the heavily-rumored smartphone is expected to launch on July 6 — that is two days from now. The firm has already begun sending out press invites for the smartphone launch. The event is expected to take place in Beijing. If reports are believed to be true then the Vivo X9s Plus smartphone — like most other Vivo smartphones — will be front-Camera oriented. In fact, Vivo is expected to debut a dual-front camera set-up with its said device.

This will be the first time that Vivo will be seen introducing a Dual Front camera set-up. Previously, this deed was achieved by Oppo. As also reported by Gizbot, the upcoming smartphone — on the basis of the information interpreted via leaked images — will most possibly be packing a metal finish on both, front and back panels of the handset.

A fingerprint sensor is located on the back panel of the Vivo's upcoming smartphone next to the single rear camera set-up. Furthermore, the latter is also accompanied with LED flash feature. Apart from the new dual front camera sensor, the device is also expected to offer USB port and 3.5mm audio jack connectivity options.

FunTouch operating system technology

The same report further goes on to claim that the upcoming Vivo X9s Plus smartphone will come running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with a finishing touch delivered by the company’s very own FunTouch operating system technology. The device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 653 SoC — a clear upgrade from last year’s Snapdragon 660 SoC. Moreover, the Vivo X9s Plus device is also rumored to feature a 5.8-inch FHD (1080 pixel resolution) OLED display. The smartphone is said to be targeted towards basic-Android users. The pricing of the same hasn’t been made available yet.
