Details about the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Samsung’s smartphones recently emerged on the cross-platform processor benchmark, Geekbench.

The South Korean tech company is expected to soon start the software’s beta testing program for the smartphones. However, the tech firm has yet to announce the official release date of the update.

Huawei

Huawei’s Mate 9 Android device has surfaced on Geekbench running Google’s latest mobile operating system, which likely means the Chinese tech firm is testing the smartphone of an official update. The software update is expected to hit Mate 9 smartphones as early as next month. Huawei will unveil its Mate 10 Android smartphone on October 16 and the device is expected to run on Google’s latest software out of the box.

HMD Global

HMD Global has been teasing the new software for its smartphones for a number of weeks, but the launch of the official software update has been delayed.

Nonetheless, an executive of the Finnish company recently stated that they will launch the Android Oreo to their Nokia 3, 5 and 6 before 2017 ends.

OnePlus

Meanwhile, OnePlus has already launched the beta updates of Google’s latest software for its OnePlus 3 and 3T smartphones. The OnePlus 5 Android device has now been spotted running the latest mobile operating software, Phone Arena reported.

If this Geekbench listing is any indication, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer might have already kicked off testing the Android Oreo on its latest mobile device within a closed-group beta.
