A leaked render of Motorola’s Moto X4 smartphone with Android One showed up on the internet earlier this month. Now, Motorola and Google have rolled out the handset’s Android One edition for Project Fi in the United States.
Android One is a cheap mobile device that runs on the Android operating system. Lenovo is offering its Moto X4 Android smartphone to the Android One lineup of devices.
According to Tech Crunch, the Moto X4 Android smartphone will be the first mobile device in the US to be sold for $399 via Android One.
Although Google has yet to announce the official release date of the handset, the search engine giant is promoting its latest trade-in program, giving a $165 discount to subscribers who will trade-in select Nexus devices. The tech company is also offering a $50 Project Fi credit to a customer who pre-orders the Android One variant of the Moto X4 smartphone before October 5, The Verge reported.
Smartphone with a rear dual camera setup
On the camera front, Moto X4’s Android One model features a rear dual camera system.
One sensor of the dual camera setup boasts a 12MP dual autofocus lens with f/2.0 aperture and 1.4-micron pixels, while the other sensor features an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens with an aperture of f/2.2 and a micron pixel of 1.12. The handset’s dual camera system also features a Phase Detection AutoFocus and a color correlated temperature dual-LED flash.
Specs of the device
The Android One version of the Moto X4 smartphone features a 5.2-inch FHD LTPS IPS screen with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and 424ppi, protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. The mobile device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 system on chip with Adreno 508 graphics processing unit. The smartphone is equipped with a 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, USB-C, fingerprint sensor and a 3000mAh battery.
When Lenovo announced the smartphone, the company highlighted the device’s Amazon Alexa compatibility.
Since the Moto X4 smartphone is under the Android One program, users will get a variety of Android experience, which means users will have the latest version of the operating system and will receive updates faster compared to most other handsets.
The search engine giant is planning to collaborate with more OEM partners to expand the Android One program. Thus, smartphone enthusiasts should not be surprised to see more third-party mobile devices to be part of the program soon.
