Well-known leaker Roland Quandt revealed key details regarding Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab A2 S on September 7. He stated that the company was going to launch two variants of the tablet. The listing posted by him on Twitter revealed two devices model-numbered SM-T380 and SM-T385. While most of the primary features between the two appeared identical, the major difference occurred in terms of one being 4G LTE with Nano SIM compatibility and the other one arriving with Wi-Fi support.

According to a report by Android Headlines, Quandt further revealed that the Galaxy Tab A2 S with support for 4G LTE will probably come at a price of $350.

The company is targeting the US and European market for the device but the date of launch is not confirmed. Meanwhile, its other variant will be available for at least thirty per cent cheaper. It has also been suggested that Samsung is going to officially name the tablet, “Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017),” at the time of its launch. As noted by Phone Arena, the tablet is primarily targeted towards the younger consumers – specifically kids.

Keeping this in mind, Samsung has even integrated several kid-friendly apps. A special “Parental Control” option that restricts access to certain type of content will come pre-installed on the device.

The details regarding the specs and features

According to a report by WinFuture, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) is expected to feature an 8-inch display with 1,200 x 800 pixels resolution.

The device will further be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor along with Adreno 308 for graphics. Storage-wise, the tablet is expected to offer 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of inbuilt memory. Users will also be able to expand the memory up to 256GB via its microSD card-slot option. On the camera front, the Samsung tablet features an 8-megapixel rear sensor along with a 5-megapixel front snapper.

The Bixby featured device

The company introduced its proprietary Bixby voice assistant earlier in February this year. All the products following its announcement, come with the support for the voice assistant. It is pretty obvious that the company’s entry-level tablet will also equip support for Bixby.

According to what Android Headlines has to report, Samsung is expected to announce the tablet next week. The power button along with the volume up/down buttons will be located on the sides of the device. They may debut two primary color variants: Black and Gold with its Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017). Customers have to wait a bit more for the tablet.
