Chinese technology giant Xiaomi is expected to introduce its much-awaited mid-budget smartphone, Mi 6C towards the end of this year. Several reports have described the upcoming smartphone as being a toned-down version of the already-prevailing Mi 6 device. Even though, the company hasn’t made any details regarding the smartphone available for public viewing as yet; thanks to the endless leaks and speculations that have pretty much given the major features of the device away.

Device spotted online

Going back to the renders that were first spotted on the Chinese social media website, Baidu – it is safe to assume that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6C smartphone is going to come packed with a sleeker look than before.

Apart from this, the device is also suggested to sport chamfered edges, just like the ones that the Xiaomi Mi 6 equipped. The rear panel of the smartphone showcases a single rear camera setup – contrary to the leading rumors that claimed that the smartphone might come sporting a dual rear camera setup. The camera is further accompanied with sensors. On the connectivity front, it seems like the device is going to come sport a USB Type-C port that will be found on the bottom side of the smartphone. The leaked renders showcase the yet-to-be-launched Xiaomi Mi 6C smartphone in a full-fledged White color variant. The company is expected to introduce more colors under this smartphone banner nonetheless.

Specs and features

As far as other specifications of the upcoming smartphone are concerned, the device is expected to arrive in two storage variants: 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage and 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage. While the former will be priced at around CNY 2,000; latter is expected to come at a price of CNY 2,500.

The smartphone will probably be powered by the Qualcomm 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660 octa-core system-on-chip processor, further complimented by a 14nm FinFET processor as well.

This is expected to generate support for 4K video content viewing as well. The smartphone is further expected to run on the latest Android 7.1 Nougat operating system.

Apart from this, the rear camera is speculated to arrive with a 12-megapixel sensor along with a 4-megapixel front shooter. While the release date of the smartphone has not been confirmed yet, it is believed that the device will be launched at an event in china towards the end of this year.
