Samsung has had a busy 2017. The South Korean technology giant has been on a launching spree ever since the annual MWC 2017 event concluded in Barcelona in February of this year. The device manufacturer began by introducing its high-end Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus flagship smartphones. The company went on to introduce mid-range devices J7 and J7 Pro, and is now preparing to launch its highly-anticipated Galaxy Note 8 smartphone. The firm is also working on a new smartwatch, along with three new variants of the company’s Galaxy Tab E.
Reports on the internet
According to a report published by The Leaker, the official Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) organization has recently passed the alleged Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 (SM-T375) tablet. According to the listing posted on the website, three variants of the same model have been spotted online, as carrying SM-T385K, SM-T385L, and SM-T385S model numbers. While there are many reports that suggest that the recently-spotted models will serve as successors to last year’ Galaxy Tab E, others claim that the device might be a whole new range provided by the South-Korean technology giant altogether. There are a lot of other reports that indicate that these are merely testing units for Samsung.
According to another report published by Android Headlines, Samsung first launched the Galaxy Tab E 8.0 last year.
During the time of the launch, the device came equipped with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system. Samsung only later released the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its tablet later that year. The same report suggests that South Korean original equipment manufacturer (OEM) might be in the process of working towards deploying the Android Nougat 7.1.1 update to its tablets and that’s why the tablets resurfaced online.
However, since they are branded with a different model number – it still remains unconfirmed whether this is actually true.
