AT&T has rolled out a new sales promotion for a Samsung TV discount. However, it revealed some details of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. Here are the features and everything that consumers should know about the new rugged version of the mobile phone.

AT&T indirectly reveals information on TV promotion

AT&T has announced on their official website that customers can avail a $500 discount on a Samsung TV. This promotion will be available to those who can switch to a 24-month data wireless service DirecTV satellite service excluding DirecTV NOW and prepaid services.

They can also have the U-verse TV service. Moreover, the customers must also buy a Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, or S8 Active on AT&T Next or AT&T Next Every Year to be eligible for the promotion.

Customers who will qualify for the discount are those residing in the U.S. New clients may spend a minimum of $50 every month for a new wireless plan. Moreover, they can also add the device on their plan if allowed. Moreover, they may need to add $25 activation fee and other charges.

The company has not disclosed further details. However, the TV sales promotion points out that the production of Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is real. Since the promotion runs until the end of August, it indicates that the release date of the mobile phone’s rugged version is approaching very soon.

Rugged version specifications

The S8 active may also be exclusive to AT&T just like the S7 Active. It will feature a larger battery capacity with a substantial bumper around the edge. Moreover, it will also feature a fingerprint scanner and a built-in Bixby AI assistant.

The leaked images of the mobile phone reveal that it has a 5.8-inch 1440 x 2960 Super AMOLED screen similar to the S8.

Moreover, it features a sturdy and shatter-resistant Gorilla Glass 5. It will be wider with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Compared to other models, the upcoming rugged version will be thicker, heavier, and a lot tougher with a durable metal frame and possibly a plastic back. It is also expected to be dustproof and water-resistant.

Price and possible release date

The S7 Active costs around $800 and the S8 costs around $725. Hence, the high-end S8 Active is expected to be expensive just like the other models.

Samsung will be holding an event on August 23, 2017, to reveal the all-new Galaxy Note 8. Hence, the company may release the S8 Active’s this week or early next week. Stay tuned for more updates!
