Samsung is gearing up to announce the next smartphone for its Galaxy Note series. The company will unveil the Galaxy Note 8 on August 23 in a New York City event. It will feature a large infinity display, advanced stylus pen, and a powerful camera. According to The Verge, the smartphone pre-orders will be available on the next day, and the device will officially hit the market on September 15.

Pre-orders will come with freebies

The accurate smartphone leaker, Evan Blass, claims that the Galaxy Note 8 pre-orders will come with a 256GB microSD card with a wireless charger, or a 360 degree camera.

European pre-orders on the other hand will come with a DeX Dock. The DeX Dock gives the users a desktop experience using their smartphones. Users can run an entire desktop with a computer monitor, keyboard and mouse by using the DeX Dock. Users can also run multiple applications at once, and grab the corner of each window to resize the apps, just like in a regular PC. Applications that are not DeX optimized will open in a phone-shaped window.

What features will be included?

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is rumored to feature a 6.3-inch screen with infinity display. The smartphone will also sport an iris scanning sensor to improve its security. The iris scanner is said to be a more secure way of unlocking a smartphone compared to the fingerprint sensor.

A new application called “Samsung Smart Switch” will also be included in the device. The app can allow the users to transfer their photos, contacts, and any files from their old devices without taking too much time.

New application for S-pen

The new stylus pen of the Galaxy Note 8 might feature an application called “Find My Mobile.” The s-pen might have a built-in tracking technology that works with the app.

It will allow the users to easily locate their smartphones in case it is misplaced.

Samsung uses weak battery?

The company already learned their lesson through the disastrous Galaxy Note 7. Samsung will not be using a powerful battery on the Galaxy Note 8. The device will sport a 3,300mAh battery cell, which is slightly smaller compared to the 3,500mAh battery of the Galaxy S8 Plus.

The device will be powered with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor. It will also have 6GB of RAM, and an impressive dual-lens camera with 2x optical zoom. The first lens is a 12-megapixel with a dual-image pixel sensor, and the second lens is a 13-megapixel telephoto.
