While Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 8 in New York, the tech company did not reveal its latest wearable. Samsung is expected to unveil its latest smartwatch at the upcoming IFA 2017 event. It should be expected since the South Korean tech titan showcased its previous computerized wristwatch during last year's IFA event. However, the tech company appears to have accidentally published the brand new wearable’s product page ahead of its official announcement.
According to The Verge, the tech company’s official website now has a listing for its upcoming Gear Fit 2 Pro.
The brand new smartwatch’s overall design resembles its predecessor. The huge difference between the two models would be the snap band of the new Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro.
Specs of the smartwatch
The tech giant’s listing made it known that the Gear Fit 2 Pro will arrive with a 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 216 x 432 resolution, Forbes reported. The new computerized wristwatch will be equipped with a Bluetooth 4.2, heart rate sensor, pedometer, 500MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, GPS and a 200mAh battery. The smartwatch weighs in at 34 grams. The device will be available with only one model and will arrive in two color options - Black and Red.
One of the improvements of Samsung's new device over its predecessor would be its water resistance of up to 5ATM, which is roughly 50 meters.
The new wearable will also roll out with a new Speedo app, which will serve as the user’s swimming tracker. The device will also arrive with an improved buckle strap.
Device’s fitness-centric apps
The product page of the latest smartwatch showcased its several fitness-centric apps, such as Samsung's own Health ecosystem, Under Armor, MyFitnessPal, MapMyRun as well as Endomondo.
Like many of Samsung’s smartwatches, it’s ideal for the new device to run Samsung’s dedicated Tizen operating system.
However, an earlier FCC filing for the forthcoming computerized wristwatch appeared to show its overall aesthetic that resembles a traditional smartwatch. With the tech giant has already proved to be full of surprises, the company might unveil two models of the smartwatch at the IFA 2017 event.
Bearing that in mind, anybody may have the right to speculate on how the tech company’s IFA launch will play out.
While Samsung has yet to reveal the new wearable at next week's trade show, the company might also unveil its official price, specs, and features.
