While Samsung is preparing for the launch of its Galaxy Note 8 phablet; there’s still a market segment that has remained untouched by the company for a year. The last time Samsung introduced a smartwatch was last year when the company brought out the Gear Fit 2. The smart wearable was primarily targeted towards the requirements of fitness enthusiasts. It seems that the device will finally be getting a successor. Latest leaks relating to the Gear Fit 2 Pro have surfaced online, courtesy of an unidentified U.S. retailer.

Price of the device

According to a report published by Tech Radar, the smart wearable witnessed on the U.S.

retailer’s website is believed to be the Gear Fit Pro. The smartwatch has been listed on the website as carrying a $199.99 price-tag. This seems to be a meager rise in the price, as compared to Gear Fit 2, which carried a $179.99 tag. Additional details regarding the upcoming Gear Fit Pro were published online, thanks to well-known leakster, Evan Blass. According to what he had to say, the smartwatch is expected to arrive with special waterproofing abilities.

This feature has been added to the smartwatch, to meet the requirements of athletes such as swimmers. The smartwatch is also further speculated to come with an extended support for Spotify’s music streaming service, which will apparently be functional offline as well.

In other words, the users will not require mobile data connection or Wi-Fi to stream music from Spotify. Samsung is expected to introduce its Gear Fit 2 Pro smartwatch alongside the much-awaited Galaxy Note 8 on August 23, just head of the IFA, 2017 show.

Specs and features details

As far as the Galaxy Note 8 is concerned, the company is expected to pack the phablet with a 6-inch full HD Infinity display and power it using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip and 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage.

The smartphone is further speculated to house a 3,000mAh battery and will run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. The device is going to sport a dual rear camera setup with two 13-megapixel sensors on the back along with an 8-megapixel front camera as well. The smartphone is also expected to come equipped with the company’s iconic digital S Pen.
