Google is rumored to introduce its Pixel 2 and XL 2 smartphones at an event in the month of October this year. These smartphones will serve as the successor to last year’s Pixel line-up. The search-giant has only merely confirmed the availability of the smartphones. However, plenty of leaks regarding the upcoming smartphone have suggested quite a lot about the two upcoming flagship offerings.

Apple and Samsung heavily dominate the high-end smartphone market. Google has entered in the said smartphone market segment last year. The upcoming model of the company will go head-to-head with Apple's upcoming iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8.

It will be interesting to see the rivalry among one of the biggest tech companies.

Concept of the devices

On the basis of these concepts, the smartphones come featuring a design that has already been seen in its predecessors. In other words, there is nothing new that Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel Xl 2 will pack in terms of design at least. At the same time, many other concept-based images suggested that the smartphone would come sporting a completely bezel-less design as well. Bezel-less technology seems to be the norm of the year, wherein most of the smartphone manufacturers are opting for it especially for their high-end flagships. The handsets might be metal-clad – just like Nokia’s latest smartphone offering.

The smartphone is expected to pack a glass backing too.

Specs and other details

Both the high-end smartphones will probably come powered with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip. There was another rumor that suggested that the devices might come equipped with Snapdragon 836 processor – which hasn’t been revealed as yet.

However – the same remains to be confirmed by Google as of now. Storage-wise, Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 will offer 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage. There will be another variant that will pack 6GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage. Users will also be provided with the option of expanding the memory up to 256GB via the device’s microSD card-slot option.

Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 was first rumored to feature a dual rear camera setup. Soon enough, reports refuting the above mentioned speculation started emerging online. Following which, it came to believe that the smartphones will be sporting a 12-megapixel rear sensor, along with a 7-megapixel front shooter as well. The smartphones might also pack basic connectivity options as well. Stay tuned for more technology updates.
