Last year, Google unveiled their first ever premium phone called Pixel which directly competes the iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S8. The time has arrived for Google to announce yet another device to this PIXEL family. According to the leaks by Evan Blass, the Pixel 2 or whatever they are going to call it will make its way to the market on October 5Th.

The device could arrive in a little over a month and is supposed to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 SoC processor which is again claimed by often accurate leaker Evan Blass.

Pixel 2 with fewer bezels?

Much bigger, as well as smaller brands, have joined this bezel less party and there is a hard chance that Google will also be the one partying. If we look at the previous leaks, the higher variant of the device will come with thinner bezels and a narrower 2:1 aspect ratio screen, like one found in Galaxy S8 and LG G6. Higher variant aka Pixel 2 XL will also come with 6-inch AMOLED display, and LG will provide the display as per the reports.

The smaller variant aka Pixel 2 (most probably) will be more of an entry level gig with thicker bezels therefore not participating in the trend. It will boost 4.97-inch 1080p display. The brand might go for front-facing speakers to improve the sound quality.

The next gen Pixel will also be coming with 'squeezable sides' which will activate Google Assistant if pressed.

Pixel's rumored specification

The device will have 4GB of RAM on board and is expected to come with 64GB of internal storage. We can expect some upgrades in camera for sure, potentially largely due to software. Google still might not follow the Dual Camera trend, and even if they do, it will only be available in Pixel 2 XL.

I think so.

The next big thing will be the ditching of the headphones jack in the next gen Pixel devices. Google proudly used the headphone jack as a feature differentiator for iPhone, but this time they might drop the 3.5mm jack. Google is confused, I guess.

The previous generation Pixel was launched on the October 4, and therefore, there is a high chance that launch could happen on October 5th.

Of course, nothing is official by the brand, and it is just a leak so you should take this with a pinch of salt.

This year a lot of exciting devices made its way to the market including Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8, Essential Phone. All of them trying to do something new, trying to change the way we see a smartphone today. We still have two more brands to excite us. All we have to do is wait and see what Apple and Google have in stores of us.
