Apple has rolled out the watchOS 4 Beta 8 for its smartwatches, which include the much awaited Apple Watch Series 3. The Cupertino based tech titan is currently launching the watchOS 4 beta 8 to developers.
According to Mac Rumors, the eighth beta version of Apple’s smartwatch operating system came out a week after the company released the beta 7, and around two months since Apple announced the operating system’s update at its WWDC 2017 event.
The watchOS 4 beta 8 for Apple’s smart watches features the latest watch faces, which include Siri’s dedicated watch face.
The watch face of Apple’s personal assistant is anticipated to be watchOS 4’s main new feature, considering that the feature will showcase dynamic information based on the preferences and activities of the user.
The tech company has also improved the Workout app. The pre-release software seems to indicate that the app will feature the latest swimming options as well as a High-Intensity Interval Training support. While iHelp BR was examining the developer beta of the iOS 11 operating system, the media outlet discovered several new icons in the Workout app. Although the publication site discovered it in the developer beta of the mobile operating system, the tech company is expected to feature the new icons in watchOS 4.
New icons
The leaked icons seem to indicate that the Workout app will support a number of activities, such as baseball, badminton, snow sports, paddle sports, surfing, golf, kickboxing, fishing, downhill skiing, dance, bowling, and climbing, among many others, according to The Verge.
The watchOS 4 will bring new complications for Now Playing and Apple News.
The operating system will also feature new technology platform called GymKit.
Meanwhile, Apple’s smartwatch is perhaps the most recognized in the glorified fitness band category. However, the company might get out of that niche with its upcoming Apple Watch Series 3. The new smartwatch will be equipped with 4G capability, which would allow the device to function without an iPhone.
Apple Watch Series 3 features
The new wearable will come along with a camera for FaceTime calls. The Apple Watch Series 3 will also feature a sleep tracker and a microLED technology. The tech company also seems to launch the Watch Series 3 with health-tracking features, such as glucose readings for diabetics and respiration rates.
Considering Apple’s new watchOS is waiting to be flaunted by a new device, the tech company might launch the Watch Series 3 alongside the iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus next month.
