Alcatel in an effort to expand its existing portfolio of power-packed smartphones is reportedly working on another edition of its Idol line-up of devices. While the company hasn’t provided any possible details regarding the smartphone, several leaks and speculations have pretty much confirmed the existence of this plan. On the similar lines, an unannounced Alcatel model has been spotted as passing through the official Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website. This smartphone is believed to be Alcatel’s upcoming Idol 5 device, which the company is apparently going to introduce towards the end of this year. The reason why many believe that the debut-date for Alcatel’s latest smartphone is close is that most smartphones make their last stop at FCC right before they are about to launch in the market.

Thanks to the latest FCC listing, the consumers now have an idea of what can be expected from the soon-to-be launched Alcatel Idol 5 smartphone.

The design of the device

The recent FCC listing has not only revealed the possible design of the smartphone but also the major hardware and software specifications of the same. It appears like the upcoming Idol 5 handset is going come packed with metal finishing as well as speaker holes that will be located on the bottom end of the smartphone. Apart from this, the smartphone is carrying the 3.5mm headphone jack on an unusual position on top of the device. There’s also the power buttons along with the volume rocker buttons situated on the right-hand side of the device. This is accompanied with a SIM/microSD card slot tray on the left side of the handset.
