HMD Global-backed nokia took the market by a storm earlier this year. The Finland-based technology giant first took the wraps off its iconic 3310 feature phone at MWC, 2017 in Barcelona. This was followed by the launch of a mid-range category of smartphones such as Nokia 3, 5 and 6 to name a few. It doesn't appear like the company is done with the launches as yet. The smartphone-manufacturer is now rumored to be working on two high-end smartphones namely Nokia 8 and 9. Now, a new report claims that the company might be planning on launching the smartphone by the end of this month.
Release on July 31
As reported by Indian Express, sources close to Nokia's plans have revealed that the company might introduce the smartphones at an event held on July 31. Since a Nokia device with model number TA-1004 has already been spotted online, it becomes even easier to believe this on-going rumor. In other words, it is quite imminent that the smartphone-manufacturer is nearing the launch-date of Nokia 8 and 9 devices. However, readers are naturally advised to note that the information hasn't been confirmed by the company as yet. Therefore, it is best that the information is taken with a grain of salt.
Features and specs
Most reports claim that the smartphone will feature a 5.7-inch Quad-HD (2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution display and will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 SoC.
On the storage front, the smartphone is expected to offer 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage as well. The device is speculated to sport a dual rear camera setup with 13MP sensors along with an 8MP front snapper for selfie-lovers as well. Furthermore, it is heavily speculated that the Nokia 8 smartphone will come with support for a dual-SIM card option as well.
Nokia is planning on launching the Nokia 8 smartphone in four color variants namely, Blue, Steel, Gold plus Blue and Gold plus Copper. While the pricing bit still remains unclear as well as unconfirmed, the smartphone is predicted to be priced around €589. Since the company also recently got into a partnership with Carl Zeiss, it is highly anticipated that the smartphone manufacturer may pack the former's camera technology in the upcoming Nokia 8 and 9 smartphones. Both these smartphones will fall in the high-end category and will take on major smartphone brands including Google, Samsung and even Apple to a certain extent. Prices are not confirmed.
