A lot of people are waiting for the new iPhone 8. Although there's still no news on when the phone will be released, Apple is releasing a few updates about the phone regularly. As reported by Telegraph UK, the new iPhone 8 will come with a revamped security system. Instead of using their fingerprint feature, owners can now unlock their phones using their facial features.
New security feature
The face scanning technology is more secure than the current Touch ID feature, which was first released in 2013 for iPhone 5S. The Touch Id has 1 out of 50,000 chances of being unlocked by somebody else.
How about the face scanning feature?
The iPhone 8, which is expected to be Apple's tenth anniversary iPhone, is rumored to have a drastic design. Unlike the other released iPhones, this time, this phone will come with a security system that can scan the user's face to know who is using it. The 3D scanning feature will replace the old Touch ID system. As reported by Bloomberg, this feature can also help in verifying the user's payments, logging into different apps, and unlocking the phone.
Instead of analyzing 2D images, it works in 3D. This function is also rumored to easily distinguish every person's face as well as photos of them. Compared with Android's 3D scanning technology which works in one angle, Apple's 3D scanning feature can work on different angles.
If the iPhone is lying flat on the table, the user can still unlock his phone.
This 3D scanning system is also reported to be designed for accuracy and speed. It can easily scan the user's face and unlock the device in as fast as a hundred milliseconds. iPhone 8 is also rumored to use Samsung Galaxy S8's eye scanning technology.
This feature, which the Galaxy line is proud of, can boost the device's security.
New phone, new body
Apple's tenth-anniversary phone will come in with an edge-to-edge OLED screen. It is the highest screen to body ratio ever released for any smartphones in the market. It is also expected that Apple will remove The Touch ID scanner and the Home button for their new phone.
This will make way for the OLED screen.
Analysts and enthusiasts are now predicting that the new iPhone 8 will be released in September. This will also include the much awaited iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S plus. The iPhone 8 will be the most dramatic of all the new releases. It will come in with a 5.2 screen and will have a glass front and back with additional steel edges.
The iPhone 7 will be the same size as the iPhone 8. However, it will not come with a glass front and back.
Another Apple blogger, John Gruber stated that the top iPhone 8 will also be called the "iPhone Pro." This phone could come with a tag price of $1,500 or even higher.
