Lenovo-owned Motorola’s slew of launches throughout the year is expected to continue with the mid-range Moto X4. The company is poised to release a total of nine new smartphones by the end of 2017. It also launched the high-end Moto Z2 Force some days back.
Fans expected the company to unveil the Moto X4 alongside the Moto Z2 Force, but it seems that Lenovo decided to launch the impending handset at a later event. Instead, people were greeted with a GeekBench listing which could belong to the upcoming Moto X4. However, there is no confirmation as to whether this assertion is correct.
Moto X4 seen on GeekBench
The listing on GeekBench, which is believed to be showing off the performance stats of the Moto X4, is actually a Motorola smartphone bearing the model number XT1789 and was tested on the site on Tuesday, July 25. The model number, along with some of the specs, led some to speculate that it could be the Moto X4.
Some of the device’s specs were revealed through the listing. However, much of it still remains unknown. The GeekBench listing revealed that the handset in question was running on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. Apart from this, the listing also detailed that the smartphone will likely be powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset and 3 GB of RAM. Not much else regarding the device’s features was revealed through the GeekBench listing.
However, the listing did indicate how well the smartphone would perform based on the score it achieved on the benchmark tests. The listing details a score of 824 when it comes to the performance of a single core. On the other hand, multi-core testing revealed a standard score of 3886 points.
Earlier benchmark listings of the Moto X4
Previously, the device bearing the same model number XT1789 was seen in the GFXBench site as well. However, the Geek Bench listing differs slightly from the other one. In the latest listing, the device is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 660. However, in GFXBench, the smartphone was said to boast a Snapdragon 630 SoC.
This difference may be the result of an upgrade that the handset went through before its release.
The GFXBench listing also offered a better understanding of the features that the Moto X4 may sport upon its launch. The device is expected to sport a 5-inch Full HD 1080p display. Along with the 3 GB of RAM, the handset will likely offer 16 GB of internal flash storage. A 12-megapixel primary camera and a 16-megapixel secondary shooter will ensure photography enthusiasts are satisfied with the handset.
