LG V30, the V20’s successor, is widely rumored to be the first handset from the company in the last three years to sport an OLED screen. The handset is expected to debut in August and is already listed on an accessory vendor – MobileFun.

Last month we saw the site share several renders of the Galaxy Note 8 encased inside a range of protective cases. The design of the Note 8 looked legitimate and was in line with several previous rumors that surfaced about the upcoming phablet. The retailer has now followed this up by listing the cases for the LG V30 for pre-order.

LG V30 protective cover cases get listed before official launch

The first case that has been listed under the MobileFun catalog for the LG V30 is the Rearth Ringke Fusion LG V30 Clear Case. Carrying product reference number 64473, the protective case has been priced at $16.49. As it is apparent from the name, the case is transparent and has been manufactured from a combination of polycarbonate and rubber.

The second case being offered for the device is the Rearth Ringke Onyx LG V30 Tough Black Case. This cover has also been priced at $16.49 and has been made to protect the smartphone against knocks, bumps, and drops. The first LG V30 case, on the other hand, comes with MIL-STD 810G - 516.6 Certified Military Grade Drop Protection certification.

What do the cases reveal?

In the pictures of the LG V30 encased in the covers listed on MobileFun’s site, the device is visible only from the back. On its rear panel, one can see the horizontally aligned dual camera setup with the LED flash beside the camera sensors. The two cameras have been placed in the center of the rear panel.

The circular fingerprint sensor has also been placed at the back, below the camera setup (on the top portion of the rear panel). The LG V30 logo is etched at the bottom of the back panel. Apart from this, one can also see the volume control button, which is placed to the left of the smartphone.

Considering the there is no frontal view picture of the LG V30; it is difficult to say what the smartphone display looks like from this angle.

Speculations are rife that the smartphone will be launched on August 31 at the V-series event scheduled to take place a day before the commencement of the IFA 2017, in Berlin, Germany.

Whether the handset can throw the gauntlet to the Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone 8 from Samsung and Apple, respectively, remains to be seen. With the supposed launch a month away, consumers will be eagerly awaiting the LG handset's arrival.
