Much to the disappointment of fans, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 is not going to arrive anytime soon. The Redmond-tech giant is trying to improve its current line-up to compensate for the delay and seems to be working to enhance the user-experience in their current line-up. The new device, when it eventually appears will supposedly incorporate cutting-edge specs and features.

According to a report, earlier this year, the company released an update for its current Surface Book line-up along with improvements for the Surface Pro 4. By launching the Creators Update for Windows 10, the company further confirmed their plans to ensure that no stones will be left unturned as far as their current line-up is concerned. The newly-rolled out update comes along with numerous improvements. For instance, the company has initiated several tweaks to Cortana speech recognition as well. Along with this, the video playback feature has also been improved. Users will now be able to function on apps even when they are offline, thanks to the new update.

No official date for release

According to a report published by The Verge, the upcoming Microsoft Surface Book 2 is not going to arrive soon and will more likely happen toward the latter part of the year.

It appears that the Redmond company is currently only focusing on ensuring that its Windows 10 software update is perceived in a positive light.

Design-wise, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 is expected to ditch the traditional hinge design and will opt for a 2-in-1 tablet look which is detachable as well. The idea is very appealing but we will have to wait and see if this actually happens.

Interestingly, another report by The Verge suggested that if users are planning on using their Surface Book or laptops with the Windows 10 Creator update, then there are chances that they won’t be able to use it at all. The report further adds that the official State Bar has prohibited testers from using the device with the latest update. Stay tuned for more Microsoft Surface Book 2 news and updates.
