According to several new reports, the 2017 iteration of The Galaxy J7 might be the first smartphone from Samsung to sport dual rear cameras. An unnamed user on Chinese micro-blogging website, Weibo added more fuel to the already burning rumors about the upcoming smartphone in Samsung's much lauded Galaxy J series, by sharing images of what looked like the plastic back covers of the Galaxy J7 (2017), hinting at dual cameras planning for the purported handset.

The first Galaxy smartphone to sport dual cameras

If the leaked cases are anything to go by, the upcoming device might have dual rear cameras, which are vertically aligned.

If this comes to fruition, the Galaxy C10 will not be the first handset to feature dual cameras since the J7 is scheduled to be launched well ahead of the Galaxy C10 smartphone.

There's word that the leaked covers are actually for the Chinese version of the new Galaxy smartphone, which carries the model number SM-7310. The standard Galaxy J7 (2017) phone's model number is SM-J730, which is said to come without a dual rear camera setup.

In terms of photography, it sports an 8/12MP main camera and a 5/12MP front snapper. It will be backed by a 3000 mAh battery and run on Google's latest Android Nougat operating system.

When is the new smartphone likely to arrive?

Samsung is expected to take the wraps off the J7 (2017) phone sooner rather than later; however, the South Korean handset maker will probably restrict the launch to select countries and carriers bearing different monikers.

Earlier reports indicated that the long-rumored smartphone will be unveiled by United States' popular carrier Verizon and it will be called the Galaxy J7 V. Sprint, on the other hand, will introduce the device as the J7 Perx and, Tracfone will release it as the J7 Sky Pro.

Aside from that, AT&T and U.S. Cellular carriers are also said to launch the smartphone. The international variant of the smartphone will pack the company's own octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset, while the US version will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core chipset.
