The recently released Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have earned a positive reception from consumers despite the Note 7 brouhaha. In fact, these latest offerings from the company have been great hits so far. However, there are reports that while these devices are powerful and impressive in terms of specs and features, the real biggest reveal from the company is the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

The Note 7 debacle

It can be recalled that the Note 7 also has outstanding specs and feature. It has been one of the greatest selling devices until several units started to go in flames, literally.

The speculation about the next device being the killer smartphone is understandable. Perhaps, coming up with a safer and more impressive device is the company's way to redeem the reputation that was mired by the Note 7.

Leaks

With the growing reports about the next device nearing its launch, leaks coming from almost anywhere are abundant online. A recent one from Korean publication MK News reveals that the South Korean tech giant will equip the upcoming device with a dual camera setup. This recent claim coincides with KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's statement about the device. He said that it would feature a dual camera that is way better than that of iPhone 7 Plus and will most likely be the same as that of the upcoming iPhone 8.

Taking into consideration the leaks and statement from the analyst, it appears that the company is moving into having a dual camera set to its next generation devices.

Speculated specs, release date, and features

Aside from the leaks, there is an abundant report on the speculated specs and features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

This includes a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED capacitative touchscreen. For its design, several reports suggest that the device will be identical to its predecessor. Aside from that, the device is said to run on the latest version of Android Nougat. It will also be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or the Exynos 8895 chipset.

The upcoming device reportedly will be released with 6 GB of RAM.

It will also have an internal storage of 64 GB or 128 GB. For its battery, which has been the issue of its predecessor, allegedly the company has been very careful with the device's battery. It is believed to be a 4,000 mAh non-removable battery that is not prone to overheating.

As for the release date, it is worth noting that in a press release, the company has been very vocal about their timeline for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The company aims to release the device in the second half of 2017.
