One of the highly anticipated smartphones of 2017 is the OnePlus 5. Following the successful launch of the flagship killer OnePlus 3, the company is bound to roll out another imminent threat to giants in the smartphone industry, like Apple and Samsung. Aside from its impressive specs and features, the brand has captured the attention of the market when it offered its device at a price lower than that of flagship devices, thus the moniker-flagship killer.

Latest leaks

Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo suggests that the long-awaited device might be unveiled by the end of June 2017.

The leak moreover contradicted the previous reports that the upcoming flagship device will be released with a 2K OLED panel. The site claims that the device will only have a full HD resolution display. The decision to have a much lower display resolution was made by the company to develop a more efficient battery life for its device.

Aside from this, another leak about the device also surfaced on the same Chinese website. The leak claims that the device will have a dual camera horizontally set. The sad thing about these latest claims is the fact that these were not supported by images. There is no way that we can verify the authenticity of the leaks.

Also, another listing reveals the price of OnePlus5.

On their official site, Oppomart has listed the device complete with technical specifications and retail price. The image that was posted on the listing is the same image that was previously reported as a leaked render. The device is in a black variant with a dual camera setup. The model was priced at $449 with estimated product release date June 2017.

Specs and features roundup

OnePlus 5 has been a favorite topic among tech analysts, not only because it has introduced an interesting device in the market but it always comes out with unexpected specs and added features. As early as December 2016, there are already alleged specs and features for the flagship device. Among them include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with up to 8GB of RAM.

The device reportedly will be released with up to 128 GB of internal storage aside from the 12 MP dual rear camera horizontally setup.

Furthermore, the device is anticipated to run on Oxygen operating system based on Android N. It is also said to support front fingerprint scanner. At an alleged price of $449, which is half the price of Samsung's flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S8, the OnePlus 5 smartphone, if the leaks are accurate is worth the wait.

The flagship device is speculated to be released by the end of June 2017. It is worth noting that its predecessor, the OnePlus 3 was launch in June 2016 in China. It was later released in the US and the UK in November of the same year. If the recent leak is accurate, the flagship killer device will be available in the US market and other regions by November 2017.
