Rumors of Samsung launching the new 2017 model of the Galaxy J5, along with the Galaxy J3 and Galaxy J7, have been in the air for the past few months. All three smartphones belong to the mid-range category and have been subjected to many leaks. The latest leak that has surfaced online details all the major specs and features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy J5 2017.

Prior to this leak, the upcoming smartphone was last spotted a month back on Federal Communication Commission’s website. Apart from this, it also made an appearance on Wi-Fi Alliance. Furthermore, some alleged images of the upcoming Samsung J5 2017 also leaked at the same time, giving consumers a glimpse of the much-awaited handset.

What does the leak reveal?

In the latest leak, the press renders of the handset have surfaced online and detail the specs and features of the handset. The leaked pictures of the Galaxy J5 2017 show off the European variant of the impending smartphone. Contrary to previously leaked images, which displayed a plastic body for the device, the latest images reveal that Samsung has opted for a metal chassis for the handset.

In terms of specs, the smartphone packs some robust hardware. According to the press renders, the handset may come with an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, clocking in at 1.6GHz. In terms of storage, the Galaxy J5 may come with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of expandable memory. Fueled by a 3,000 mAh battery, the smartphone is expected to sport a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display.

In addition, the press renders also reveal that both the front shooter and the rear camera will be 13MP and have f/1.9 and f/1.7 apertures, respectively. It is also worth noting that the Galaxy J5 will house a physical home button at the front, which will double up as the fingerprint scanner. The handset will also come with LTE, Bluetooth connectivity, and Wi-Fi support.

In line with previous rumors, the alleged press renders also suggest that the upcoming Samsung handset will come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
