Much to the astoundment of Galaxy fanatics, a recently surfaced report coming from analytical firm Strategy Analytics indicates that the Chinese handset maker Oppo shipped more of its R9s smartphones as compared to Samsung smartphone models in Q1 of 2017 i.e. January to March.

Oppo R9s Outshines All Of Samsung Models

This is without an iota of doubt quite surprising; however, multiple sources attribute Oppo surpassing all of Samsung handsets to the Note 7 fiasco. In case that device would have been on sale in the first quarter of The Year, it ideally would have got the better of the R9s.

Besides, Oppo has released its latest flagship smartphone in select markets, which makes the company's feat of moving an enormous 8.9 million units in the first quarter something to shout about.

Strategy Analytics' data indicated that Apple's iPhone 7 was by far the best selling smartphone in Q1 of 2017; however, this was later plagued by a year-over-year decline in sales. Nevertheless, Strategy Analytics still claims the Cupertino-based tech titan's smaller flagship comprised a significant 6.1 percent of total smartphones in Q1 of 2017.

The estimation suggests about 21.5 million iPhone 7 being shipped and a likely 17.4 million iPhone 7 Plus device. The popular South Korean handset manufacturer, on the other hand, grabbed the fifth spot thanks to its low-priced Galaxy J3 and Galaxy J5 smartphones.
