Apple fans can expect an announcement soon regarding the new 10.5-inch Ipad Pro tablet – the device may debut at the impending WWDC even in June.Tech publication Digitimes reveals that mass production of the upcoming 10.5-inch iPad Pro commenced since March or April. Currently, roughly 500,000 units of the new iPad Pro are being manufactured in a month. However, one can expect the number to rise to a 600,000 by July. This rise will be thanks to the component shipments from the hardware manufacturers, which have seen an increase.

Growth in iPad Pro production volume: what does it indicate?

The most logical explanation behind the increase in production volume can be credited to expected market demand for the impending Apple tablet. The production increase has also resulted in market observers predicting that Apple's new iPad could touch five to six million shipment units in 2017.

iPad Pro: rumored specs and features

It is rumored that the upcoming tablet will not only sport a larger display compared to the cheaper 9.7-inch iPad, released earlier this year, but may also come with an A10X SoC. Apart from modifications under the hood, the new iPad may come with extremely thin bezels along with the Touch ID module. Along with that, the tablet may also come with all the benefits that are included in Apple’s “Pro” branded tablets, such as Apple Pencil support.

However, the veracity of all these rumors are circumspect till the time, Apple makes an official announcement regarding the same. The exact launch date of the new tablet is not known, so all one can do is wait and watch.

Apple tablets’ update and market demand may increase

Apart from the arrival of the new iPad Pro, Digitimes also states that the demand for the 9.7-inch iPad, which was launched earlier this year, may also scale up from the end of the second quarter and pick up steam in the third quarter.

The rise in demand may also lead to an increase in the tablet’s monthly shipment units numbers. Experts are predicting an increase of over four million shipment units by June and July.

It is also rumored that the Cupertino-based company may upgrade the 12.9-inch iPad Pro in 2017. According to Digitimes, the first quarter of 2017 saw tablet shipments of around 8.74 million units. The publication predicts that with the release of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro, one can expect to see a rise in the shipment numbers, which may touch roughly 8.9 million units, in Q2 2017.
