New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady always keeps fans excited and fired up with videos of his workouts. This time it was with wide receiver and close friend Julian Edelman. The 41-year-old Brady worked out with Edelman at Boston College, capturing some of their training moments on video and posting it on his Instagram account.
In a video posted by Dakota Randall of NESN, Brady was seen firing a laser to Edelman from a hard angle.
In an earlier video posted by Brady on his Instagram account, Brady threw a deep ball to Edelman, which the wide receiver timely caught. Despite his impressive throw, Brady still criticized himself in the caption, saying the “ball is a yard shorter than it needs to be. Good adjustment by Jules.” He followed it by saying, “this only means one thing, have to get back to work!” with the hashtag #roomforimprovement.”
Brady, Edelman connect in the offseason
Brady missed the team’s recent voluntary offseason training program because he wants to give more time to his family. However, he promised to train on his own in preparation for the Patriots’ run at a seventh Super Bowl.
Earlier, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that Brady “may bulk up” and “should be a bit bigger” before the 2019 NFL season starts. Edelman also posted a photo his workout his Brady with a caption “There is no substitution for persistence. #BackAtIt."
Brady then commented “Peanut butter and Jelly”, referring to his proven connection with Edelman that has delivered time and again for the Patriots at the highest level. Aside from his private workout with Edelman, Brady is also expected to spend more time with his personal trainer and close friend Alex Guerrero, who earlier expressed the belief that Brady could play until he’s 50 years old.
Draft expert gives Patriots A-minus grade
The Patriots owned 12 picks in the 2019 NFL Draft and emerged with 10 selections that will help address their needs.
New England used its No. 32 pick to draft wide receiver N’Keal Harry as another possible target for Brady and took defensive back Joejuan Williams of Vanderbilt.
The Patriots also drafted defensive end Chase Winovich of Michigan (No. 77), running back Damien Harris of Alabama (No. 87), and offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste of West Virginia (No. 101), offensive lineman Hjalte Froholdt of Arkansas (No. 118), and quarterback Jarrett Stidham of Auburn (No. 133).
The Patriots wrapped up their selections with defensive tackle Byron Cowart of Maryland (No. 159), punter Jake Bailey of Stanford (No. 163), and cornerback Ken Webster of Mississippi (No. 252).
The Patriots’ draft haul merited a grade of A-minus from ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr., who said that the team filled its needs on both sides of the ball. According to Kiper, if Harry, Williams, and Winovich deliver on their potential early, the Patriots’ selections will go down as one of the best draft classes from top to bottom.
