The Chicago Bears played an incredible game against defending Super Bowl champion the Philadelphia Eagles. If not for a blocked field goal kick, the Bears could be one step closer to the Super Bowl. Bears fans have been crying and analyzing that final kick. The Bears were led by Mitchell Trubisky, who is becoming the leader that the Bears need. He is making the throws and using his feet more. According to ESPN, his strong performance led Chicago to a 12-4 record. These are three things the Bears need to do, in order to get even closer to winning a Super Bowl.

Time to upgrade the roster

It's time the Chicago Bears let their kicker go. Bears fans around the country witnessed their favorite kicker, Cody Parkey, miss the most important kick of his career. Parkey made the first kick of the game but was iced by Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson. The NFL later revealed that Parkey's kick was actually tipped by an Eagles defensive player. While they can financially afford to keep Parkey, it's best to find someone who can help them reach the Super Bowl in 2019.

The Chicago Bears need to add to their offensive weapons. Allen Robinson was a strong weapon offensively this season. He ended up playing 13 games and recording 754 receiving yards and scoring four touchdowns.

The Bears do not have a similar receiving threat, leading to Robinson being double teamed. Newly hired Head Coach Matt Nagy delivered some impressive results with this team.

But this offense needs more juice to get even closer to a Super Bowl title run. Both Trey Burton and Taylor Gabriel are solid players, but the Bears need to either draft or pick up another receiver.

General Manager Ryan Pace built up the roster last year through free agency. According to NFL, Pace added Burton, Gabriel, and Robinson last year, and they still have the cap space to make some more moves.

Grow the running game

The running game was hot this season, with Jordan Howard scoring nine rushing touchdowns with 935 rushing yards.

Cohen recorded 444 rushing yards, and Trubisky even pitched in with 421 rushing yards. The Bears have multiple weapons in the rushing game, but Nagy needs to work with Jordan Howard to get more consistency from him.

Cohen is strong and will always be seen as a receiver, whether it's with the Bears or another team. NFL insiders consider Cohen a Darren Sproles type, but Cohen is not expected to last long with his size. Howard can deliver on every down. The Bears need to better utilize Cohen, and not relying on Trubisky running the ball every drive, and possibly getting injured.
